2022 SMBA Indoor Program
Submitted By SMBA on Tue 12 21, 21
Good Evening, and Happy Holidays to all SMBA families.

Due to Covid-19, Simcoe Minor Baseball has less access to school gyms in Norfolk to host our winter indoor training.
In the past, the cost to rent the gyms was very minimal, so we have been able to offer our winter training at no cost to the players.

We do expect to execute indoor training from January 15th to April 29th, 16 weeks in total, using:
- Rec Centre on Saturdays
- The Aud on Sundays
- Some gym times on Friday evenings, and possibly other gym times during the week.

We have indoor locations to use, but there are costs involved with the rentals of the Rec Centre and Aud.
In order to cover our costs, we expect it to work out to $100 per player.

With the uncertainty of Covid, we will not be collecting any payment at this time.

To make this work, we need to gauge interest from all players.  These workouts would be for all players currently trying out for a rep team, and if we can get enough coaches and players interested, we will also hold indoor dates for house league players as well.

Also, coaches will do their best to work around hockey schedules, where possible.  We just ask that you let your coach know if you cannot make any of the indoor baseball training nights.

The amount of indoor time for each team may vary depending on coach availability, as well as conflicts with other winter sports, and price will be adjusted accordingly.

Also as a reminder, access to Recreation facilities by youth in the 12 and above age categories will require proof of vaccination.  Access to all recreation facilities will require that all patrons of the facility will be required to provide a vaccine passport with the QR code visible. Both digital & paper copies will be acceptable as the app will scan both. Vaccine passports WITHOUT the QR code will NOT be accepted.

Please register at the link below by January 8th so we can schedule the indoor times starting January 15th weekend.
