SMBA Major Mosquito Wins Home Tournament
The 8th Annual Mosquito Tournament was held this past weekend (July 22-24) at Lions Park and saw the home team finish as the champs!
The Majors started the weekend strong with a 13-2 win over East York. Saturday morning the team continued their streak with a 12-3 win over Waterdown. The afternoon saw the team come from behind and end their game against Woodstock in a 14-14 tie.
After a 30 minute weather delay on Sunday morning for all games, the Majors took the quarterfinals in a 13-5 win over Guelph. Tillsonburg put up a challenge in the semis, but Simcoe was able to pull off a 12-9 win, advancing them to the finals where they came out ahead in a 13-7 decision over LaSalle.
Overall it was a great weekend at the ballpark with new friendships and memories made.
