Our 13U team participated in a wild tournament in Waterdown where they faced wacky weather, rain delays, and postponements but, in the end, finished as Champs!
Starting the tournament on Friday night, the 13U team pulled out a tight victory over Oakville, winning 6-5.
Although there were games scheduled for Saturday, Mother Nature had other plans, resulting in all games being postponed.
Back
at it bright and early on Sunday morning, the team faced Welland and pulled ahead with a 5-1 win. The team carried the momentum into the afternoon where they won another tight one, this time edging out Niagara Falls in a 1-0 win.
The following Friday afternoon the tournament picked up where it left off with Simcoe facing the hometown Waterdown team in the Semifinals and our 13U team winning 3-1.
After a short rest, the team was back at it for the 8pm Finals, coming up against Niagara Falls, once again. This game saw a lot more runs, for both teams, but ended with Simcoe ahead by one run, again, ending the game with a 16-15 win and clinching another tournament championship.
