This weekend the 18U team, (sponsored by the Simcoe Lions Club), hosted the second annual Lisa Dedrick Memorial Tournament for 18U / Midget at Delhi and Memorial Park, and ended the tournament as Champs!
Playing in their first game Friday night, the 18U team started strong and brought in seven runs, defeating the LaSalle Titans 7-0.
Saturday morning the team repeated the score, this time defeating the Halton Hills Eagles. In the afternoon the Giants allowed the only two runs of the tournament, but still came out ahead in a 8-2 win over the Cambridge Cubs.
Moving onto Sunday, the team repeated their 7-0 win for the third time in the tournament, this time overcoming the Hamilton Cardinals.
In the Finals, the team came out swinging with a an 11-0 win over the Port Lambton Pirates, resulting in another hometown championship!
