Tournament Recap: 12U
This weekend the 12U team headed to Brantford to compete in their first tournament of the season and came home as Champs!
Starting the tournament Friday afternoon, the team battled Lucan-Ilderton and although both teams had their offences going, the Giants eventually prevailed in a 17-13 win.
On Saturday the game against Vaughn started on time and the Giants cashed in two runs before the sky opened up and added an almost four hour delay to the game. Thankfully, the bats were still on fire when the game resumed, and the team pulled off a 16-2 win before heading home for the day.
Getting the bye on Sunday morning, the team was back in action against Lucan-Ilderton at noon, this time winning 16-1. The second game of the day was against Grimsby and, although it was a tighter game, the Giants battled and won the game 8-4.
In the championship game, the Giants took on Welland and, although the first few innings saw a back-and-forth battle, the team pulled ahead and never looked back, winning the game 18-8.
